You are looking at a rare 1949 Kaiser Virginian 4-door hardtop sedan. Stepping into the luxury car market, Kaiser introduced the Virginian Sedan with a unique simulated convertible top, center pillar glass and a host of amenities normally reserved for higher-priced automobiles. It is believed that under 1,000 Virginians were sold, and this example is presented in the fabulous color of Indian Ceramic with a black cloth roof. Having undergone a sympathetic cosmetic restoration, you will find a nicely redone and very clean engine bay where a 226/112 HP L-head inline 6-cylinder engine and 3-speed manual transmission mounts. This Virginian rides on front coil springs and rear leaf springs with a live rear axle. Sure-footed stops are courtesy of 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Equipped with a clock, radio, heater and defroster, the luxury-car persona is complete with fender skirts, full-size wheel covers and whitewall tires. Inside, black carpeting and upholstery further impart the upscale feel while various pieces of brightwork abound, providing a number of personal touches that, once again, remind that this was indeed marketed to people looking for more in a car.
