For Sale: 1951 Mercury Custom in Arlington, Texas

Vehicle Description

1951 Mercury Custom Convertible

This is one amazing car that has been featured in Rod & Custom Magazine and won more awards than you can count. It is one of the nicest ones we have ever had in the shop and would be a top dog in anyone's collection. It comes with full photo documentation on this six figure build with only 5,300 miles on the car since completion.

It is powered by a 429ci Ford V-8 connected to a C-6 transmission flowing down to the 9-inch Ford rear-end with Posi-traction right next to the stainless steel exhaust. The engine sits over a late model Ford front end with independent suspension and has a custom radiator with auxiliary cooling fan. You can cruise forever on the customized 25- gallon stainless steel gas tank.

The exterior is a virtual masterpiece painted in Seamist mixed pearl green. Starting from the front with its custom made grille, 1956 Buick headlights, molded hood with rounded corners, 2 1/4 inch chop, hand-made cloth Carson top, fabricated fender skirts, flawless bright work and moving back to the fabricated combination 1955 Cadillac/Studebaker rear bumper underneath custom made rear tail lights beside the power trunk. All of this sits on a comprehensive air ride system, steel wheels with chrome moons and wide white radial tires.

The interior by renowned Jaspers of Tacoma is absolutely luxurious with the Lincoln power front (that has been cut down) and rear Thunderbird seats decked out in supple white ultra leather. It is fully equipped with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seats, power vent windows, custom steering wheel, digital dash and a Blaupunkt stereo system. The interior stainless steel window frames just complete the look to perfection inside.

This is arguably one of the nicest Mercury street rods in the world and is absolutely flawless. If we were to try to duplicate it in our shop it would cost upwards of $200,000.00 to build. Again, it only has 5,300 miles on it since build and is essentially the same as the day it was finished.

It is being offered at $89,000.00!

This car is located and being represented for a collector in the Seattle, Washington area.
