Vehicle Description
For 1968, the Chevelle got an all-new distinctly sculpted body with
tapered front fenders and a rounded beltline. The car adopted a
long-hood/short-deck profile with a high rear-quarter "kick-up" and
hardtop coupes featured a semi-fastback, flowing roofline. The
'68's also rode a new sportier 112-inch wheelbase and tire tread
width grew an inch front and rear. Top-trim models (including the
SS 396 and new luxury Concours) featured GM's new Hide-A-Way wiper
system and the Super Sport became a series on its own.
Additionally, manual transmission cars got GM's "Air Injection
Reactor" (A.I.R.) smog pump.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this '68 Chevelle Convertible
for your consideration. This tribute car is badged as a "Yenko"
car, which was a dealership in Pennsylvania that specialized in
customizing muscle cars in the late 60's and they are among the
most collectable cars to this day. The Chevelle is powered by a 454
v8 paired with an automatic transmission. It rides on 275/40ZR20
tires on Foose chrome wheels. Highlights include orange hounds
tooth interior with front bucket seats, Edelbrock Performer
aluminum intake, Holley 4 barrel carburetor, power brakes, power
steering, vintage Kraco AM/FM/cassette player and Equus aftermarket
gauges. The white vinyl power top goes up and down as it should.
The healthy 454 roars to life and performs well. The paint remains
in good condition and shows well.
