Vehicle Description
1957 Ford Country Squire two-door wagon with a 429 Cobra Jet Police
Interceptor engine, C6 trans and Cadillac rack and pinion
steering.. You will be hard-pressed to find a more solid or
straight body on any 57 wagon.
This car has had a recent strip down to the bare metal, all glass
out, new weather seals and a repaint. She runs well and is ready
for your custom touches.
Previous owner stated this was actually a Del Rio which is a higher
trim level, but it does not have the Del Rio exterior trim on it at
this time. All the rubber seals on the glass and doors is new and
correct. Doors also have the new felts on the windows and all the
windows operate like new.
The paint is in excellent condition. All of the Glass & Trim was
removed before painting so there is no overspray or tape lines. The
previous owner chose a flat blue. If this is not your taste it
would be easy to make it a two tone flat paint job. If you wish to
do a color change you'll be starting off with a car with a laser
straight body and all new soft rubber seals so taking it back down
for a proper repaint would not be a major undertaking.
The interior is new. New carpet, new seat covers, new headliner,
new door panels, and repainted dash. All in black.
The engine is a 429 CJ Police Interceptor. Previous owner said it
came from a 1972 model. He rebuilt the engine dropping the
compression ratio by one point and installing a mid-range cam. His
intentions were to use it as a retro tow vehicle for his vintage
race car. He also installed Cadillac power rack and pinion
steering. Other than this the suspension is original spec and in
good condition. While it still has the original drum brakes they
are in very good condition and operated via a modern dual circuit
master cylinder.
Old wagons are all the rage right now. This one is Rock Solid and
ready to receive your personal touches.
