Vehicle Description
1994 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
In 1951 a group of Harley Earl's "Special Projects" crew began work
on a GM sports car. Bob McLean designed a general layout for the
car which was originally code named, "Opel." William Durant, the
founder of GM, said a wallpaper pattern he saw in a Paris hotel in
1908 inspired the bow tie logo. Supposedly, he ripped off a small
piece of it and brought it back to Detroit. Myron Scott, at the
time Chevrolet's Chief photographer, is credited with coming up
with the Corvette name, drawing from the small, fast warships of
the "Corvette" class.
A C-4 "new generation" Corvette, might be masquerading as Darth
Vader. Black on Black with glowing red taillights is truly the only
color seen on this sports car. A 2-owner, garage kept car, well
maintained, is ready to drive away from its current home at the
Classic Auto Mall, only it will do it very fast!
Exterior
Black covers every fiberglass surface. A 1-piece removable
fiberglass roof panel sits on top, and retractable halogen
headlamps are up front, along with halogen fog lamps. Standard
Corvette wheels are on all corners, and fiberglass panels all
present in good condition. A remote operated rear glass reveals a
decent sized storage compartment.
Interior
Black leather wraps the buckets, and steering wheel, as well as
center console. There are many convenience options on this car such
as analog digital instrumentation, AM/FM/Cassette/CD player, power
windows, power door locks, power seats, power steering and power
brakes. Acceleration slip regulation (ASR) is present for enhanced
stability. A clean dash as well as fair carpeting completes the
black package.
Drivetrain
A 5.7-liter 300hp V8 sits under the clamshell hood and can be
accessed very conveniently. It presents with sequential fuel
injection, and a 4-speed automatic transmission newly rebuilt, with
overdrive back the mill up. Electronic selective ride and handling
can be adjusted on the fly.
Undercarriage
Typical for a car of this age and mileage, ABS disc brakes are
seen, as well as a performance axle ratio differential. 5 link rear
suspension with transverse fiberglass spring, and independent front
suspension, with power rack and pinion steering are seen.
Darth Vader with the deep throaty dual exhaust emanating from the
5.7-liter mill, and the ability to strike in a moment's notice.
Wrapped in creature comforts, and plenty of leather, this Corvette
is ready to be your daily driver, or just a shower. Either way the
force will be with you.
