Vehicle Description
1932 Ford Coupe
Ever since classic car collecting and customization was a thing the
1932 Ford has been one of the most popular vehicles to own. These
cars have a look all their own and there is nothing cooler than
seeing a vintage 32 rolling down the road. This car was extremely
well built and combines a lot of the original 32 Ford style with
modern reliability making it not only a great looking car but one
you can drive anywhere. The 5 window Kilbourne body is in excellent
shape and has a 2.5 inch chop. It is painted in a gloss Black paint
that is absolutely beautiful. Any painter or car aficionado in the
world will tell you a Black paint job is a tough one to get right.
It shows every imperfection hidden underneath. Well this thing
shines like a mirror and is one that was done right. The hood,
grill shell and running boards are steel with the rest being
fiberglass. To avoid any troubles with underside rock chips the
fenders were actually rhinolined for extra protection. The car was
actually built to look like a steel car and even has the correct
brackets underneath, etc. On the outside you will see a lot of the
original styling like the grill to the chrome bumpers. These are
actually really neat to see in place. For a while there the trend
was to remove a lot of these original features so nowadays when you
see them it actually makes the car stand out from the rest in a
great way. It has the stock style headlights as well with the
headlight bar but they incorporate the turn signals inside of them.
This gives it a nice clean look while still being functional. In
back the taillights are from a 1950 Pontiac and are mounted below
the truck lid. All of the glass is in excellent condition with
tinted windows and the windshield is framed with stainless trim.
Both the hood and side panels are louvered which is a nice olds
school touch. The wheels are Blacked out with dog dish chrome
center caps which work perfectly with the overall look of the car.
The wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich tires which still have a
lot of life left in them.
The drivetrain and suspension is where you will find a lot of
modernization which results in a reliable car that you can hop in
and go at anytime. All original style cars have their place but it
is nice to be able to know you can drive your 32 in a cruise across
the country without any concern. The 350 ci 375hp motor is
balanced/blue printed and only has 500 miles on it. It was all
professionally built and runs very well. It is topped with a lot of
chrome/billet upgrades but keeping with the Black and chrome theme
things like the finned valve covers incorporate Black which gives
it a really clean and professional look. It has a vintage Cadillac
air cleaner which is also painted Black and looks good. The exhaust
is all new and dumps underneath the car right behind the rear. The
transmission is a Turbo 350 automatic with floor shifter and sends
power back to the Winters quick change rear end with angle cut
gears and a great looking chrome center section. The suspension
consists of an I beam front axle, chrome shocks, a 4 bar link and
adjustable coilovers in back. It rides down the road well and is a
comfortable driver. The front disc brakes have nice aluminum dust
covers and the owner just spent a lot of time/effort going
completely through the car and detailing even pieces like those
dust covers. He bought the car which was completed 12997 miles ago
and then went totally through it making things right which included
replacing the motor.
The interior is finished out in all Black with an adjustable bench
seat. The dash is painted Black like the body is it topped with
Stewart Warner gauges in a nice engine turned bezel. In the lower
dash section you will find the Vintage AC/Heat controls, chrome
vents and billet knobs/switches for the headlights, etc. In front
of the driver sits a great looking 1940 Ford steering wheel on top
of a tilt steering column. An AM/FM/CD player with navigation
system has also been added with a screen mounted in the center. The
lokar shifter is routed through the floor and moves through the
gears smoothly. Other nice upgrades include the power window
controls and a power cut off switch which is located in the trunk
where the battery is also mounted.
This great looking 32 has a lot going for it and was put together
well.
