Vehicle Description
This 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback is one fine example of this pivotal
model in all of its late first-generation glory. It's in top notch
running condition, looks great and some well-chosen aftermarket
touches make it equally suited for drawing admiring glances out on
the road as it would be creating a stir on the local car show
circuit.
It's quite a looker - the Candy Apple red paint with black accents
down the hood and across the rocker panels and taillight panel
really bring out the awesomeness in this beloved classic. From all
appearances, everything is clicking with this '70 - the paint
itself is in sharp condition and sports a strong, wet-looking
shine, and the chrome bumpers in both front and back are looking
their best. Up front, the air dam sits nice and level and shows no
friction burns from curb stops and the like, while the deep black
of the hood scoop, as well as the louvres over the rear windshield,
bear proof that this '70 has been well-shielded since its
restoration just about 7 years ago. Clear glass surrounds the cabin
and consistently fresh rubber sits in place to keep the elements at
bay. This is one sharp-looking, nicely finished ride.
The interior features a number of fresh components and has been
skillfully refurbished while retaining the configuration that so
inspired car buyers all those decades ago. The high-backed front
buckets - as well as the bench seat in back - are in great shape,
with black vinyl covers whose ultra-clean appearance is a good sign
this interior hasn't seen all that much activity since being
installed. The seating looms over an expanse of fresh black
carpeting and, with Dynamat installed just below that, this classic
is well insulated from the heat coming off of the asphalt. A sharp
looking aftermarket steering wheel sits atop the tilt column, while
on the dash - whose woodgrain accents are matched by those on the
door panels and center console - a set of Mach I gauges take the
place of their original counterparts, adding the functionality of a
tachometer in the process. This vintage Ford provides a comfortable
and enjoyable driving experience - its air conditioning blows cold
to keep you and your passengers comfortable and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD
stereo stands by to handle your audio requests, aided by 4 beefy
aftermarket speakers inside the cabin. A full-size spare is on hand
inside the carpeted trunk, should it be needed.
A 351 Cleveland V8 - a stout, well-respected engine - sits between
the shock towers in a nicely detailed engine compartment,
surrounded by semi-gloss inner fenders and firewall. It hasn't
logged all that many miles since its restoration and is running in
top form, sporting both an Edelbrock Torker intake manifold and an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carb to extract the most from its output. It
pairs up with a modern 5-speed manual transmission while a 3.00
posi rear end makes for nice, easy highway cruising and brings all
the power to the pavement with surefootedness. With a Hi Flo water
pump and sizable aluminum radiator added to the mix, this Mustang
is well-equipped to deal with high temperatures as it cruises on
its set of 20" Ridler wheels wrapped with Kumho tires. Power
steering and power brakes that feature discs up front make
navigating and stopping easy.
A well-decked out classic Mustang is always an inspiring sight, and
this 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback is just that and much more. Call
