CHRYSLER, 1941 Town & Country "Barrel-Back" Station
Wagon. To many wooden car collectors, this is the "Holly
Grail". This is the rarer version, being the nine-passenger model.
Approximately 57,000 miles from new. This is a well preserved
example that has never been restored. For 30+ years it was owned
and displayed by the Wells Auto Museum, right on US Route 1 in
Wells, Maine. I always considered it their flagship exhibit. Even
the original leather remains in wonderful condition. Re-varnished
and freshened up in the early 1970's it still presents itself
extremely nicely.
The dash plastic is superb. It runs and drives very well. Rcent
major brake system overhaul was performed by a top restoration
shop. Being a 1941, the car is factory equipped with sealed beam
headlights which makes it ultimately safe and roadworthy for an
"out to dinner car" at your summer retreat. Private museum stored
in Central Virginia. Below market priced at $290,000. Quality
partial trades entertained.
