Meet Bully. He's a '68 VW Bus in the uber rare double cab pickup configuration.
This Type 2 Bay Window Transporter van has been mechanically sorted and the interior freshened up. It's got all new window and door rubbers, shifter bushings and a new wiring harness. The brakes have been gone through and the motor tuned up.
I'm not certain what size motor is in it but it starts right up, idles good and pulls strong through all four gears. It's got open headers and makes noises befitting its bad attitude appearance. Stops and steers like it should.
Its finished in a dark primer, and rolls on chrome steelies with dog dish hubcaps. Its got a bit of rust on the inner fenders but the frame and panels are solid. The interior is very tidy benefiting from new seat covers, door panels and floor mats. Everything inside works: lights, horn, flashers and instrumentation. I have not addressed the heater but have plans to (but no guarantees on that).
I also have plans to commission a local artist to put some color on this guy. Maybe some fancy pin striping and a shop logo, a hippie scene, graffiti or I'm digging the thought of a tie dye paint job. Then again, just leave it with the rat rod look. I invite your suggestions! In the meantime its for sale.
