Touring/Casual Driving.This stunning 365 GTB/4 comes from a great
home where it was serviced and used as intended. Chassis number
14203 is one of the finest Daytona coupes we have had the privilege
to offer. Delivered in March of 1971 to George Woolleys Ferrari in
Toronto in its extremely rare and original color of Giallo Dino
over Nero Interior. Its stay in Canada was brief and by 1972 it
made its way stateside to Illinois and then Oklahoma in 1976. Then
in 1978 the Daytona was found advertised in the Los Angeles Times
by Ferrari of San Diego, described as Giallo Dino with black
interior and 29,272 miles. The car remained in California for the
next couple of decades, with very little use before it was found
and purchased by a New York dealer. It was then sold to a respected
New Jersey collector with an affinity for great European sports
cars. The new owner commissioned a complete repaint of the car in
its original Giallo Dino color and it remained in his collection
through early 2014 when it was sold to an orthopedic surgeon based
in Illinois. Under its new ownership a complete and throughout
servicing was performed with the intents to use the car on the
Copperstate 1000 rally. The service included new suspension
bushings, rebuilt shocks by Koni, new joints, brake service,
all-new rotors, calipers, and master cylinder. Additionally, the
distributors were converted with modern internals. Major service to
the engine included new coils, new fuel pumps, new fuel filters,
spark plugs, tuning of the carburetors. In its preparation for the
rally it also received a new clutch, new pressure plate, throw out
bearing and a transmission service. For ease of handling at low
speeds an EZ electric power steering unit was installed (original
components are included). The EZ electric power steering unit is
speed sensitive and cuts off above 25 MPH and also has a cutoff
switch to deactivate it completely. In 2015 after the extensive
service was completed the Daytona successfully participated in the
Copperstate 1000, a 1000-mile vintage rally across Arizona.
Subsequently, it has been driven and enjoyed by its last fastidious
caretaker until our purchase. A summer of 2017 inspection and
extensive detailing revealed strong engine compression on all 12
cylinders and nicely tuned mechanicals. In December, 2107 the
Daytona received new Michelin XWX tires all around, further
improving its drivability. Visually it is a stunning example with
nice paint and a remarkably well aged original interior with the
exception of the outer seat bolsters which were redone. Included
with the sale are a toolkit, jack, servicing invoices, and a Marcel
Massini history report. The odometer reads 53,035 miles which are
believed to be original.Ferrari only produced 1284 365 GTB/4
Daytona Coups, #14203 is one that remains in stunning original
condition with largely original interior, original glass, body #453
stamped panels and with its powerful numbers-matching V12 engine. As
an iconic Ferrari, Daytonas are highly sought after, as many owners
are reluctant to part with their cars. Good examples are difficult
to come by. Opportunities like this do not come around often, if
you have been searching for a great driving and visually stunning
Daytona we encourage you to carefully consider this example.Price:
