Vehicle Description
STK 2517 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible
The 1965-1966 Ford Galaxie 500 was a vastly improved Galaxie model.
It boasted more angular styling, a sturdier frame derived from
stock-car racing experience and a totally new rear suspension
design that incorporated coil-springs, twin control arms and a
Panhard rod. Although the new Galaxie was not exactly a track car,
its handling was very advanced for the time. Our beautiful, mostly
original 1966 Galaxie 500 convertible shows only 54,241 odometer
miles and we feel that the number may very well be correct. The
Galaxie has received a stunning re-spray of the original Wimbledon
White paint and its black power convertible top and original black
vinyl interior are in very good condition. The Galaxie is equipped
with the factory AM/FM stereo, power seats, tinted windows, power
steering and power drum brakes with a dual-master conversion. This
convertible model weighs in at over 3,600 lbs, but from a
performance standpoint, being this large is not a problem. There is
an icon under the hood - the venerable 352/4V FE series engine
(X-code). This motor was the mainstay in the full-sized Ford line
for many, many years. With the Motorcraft Autolite 4V carb, the
1966 version produced 250HP and 352lb/ft of torque. This engine
appears to be is totally original and we believe that it to be the
factory motor and never rebuilt. It is backed by Ford's 3-speed
Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The car is fitted with original 15"
steel wheels, stunning factory Galaxie wheel covers and Firestone
radials. There are very, very few Galaxies around like this
original classic. It belongs in your Blue Oval collection. ALL
VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
