Vehicle Description
1965 Chrysler New Yorker Town Sedan / 100% Survivor in Incredible
Condition The introduction of the all new 1965 Chrysler line-up
featured ads proclaiming "The most beautiful Chrysler ever built!
Agreed?" The line-up was the first effort of a new to Chrysler
designer, Elwood Engel, who had defected from Ford in 1961. He had
designed the elegant 1961 Lincoln lines as well. The public must
have agreed, as a record 224,061 new Chryslers of all series rolled
off the line at Jefferson assembly in Detroit. A total of 16,339
New Yorker Town Sedans were produced in 1965. They came from the
factory with a 413ci 340hp 4bbl V8 engine, backed by a 3speed 727
Torqueflite automatic transmission. Power steering and power drum
brakes were standard. The New Yorker Town Sedan featured here has a
2 owner history and is the nicest 100% original Chrysler we have
ever seen. Sold new at Griffith Chrysler in Denver, Colorado. It
still wears the Griffith keyfob on the original keys and the
Griffith name on the trunk badge! The car was in the hands of the
original owners in Boulder Colorado until early 1990. The mileage
at that time was roughly 73,000. The second owner purchased the car
in June 1995 and drove it to its second home to Indianapolis. The
car has been driven very little in the 23 years of ownership by the
second owner, a Chrysler collector. The current mileage is under
76000. which is absolutely correct. The car has always been stored
in a heated garage and hasnt seen rain or snow in its life. This
Very Nice Original Chrysler New Yorker has a rust free body with
Beautiful like-new chrome, trim and an unusually nice original
interior.. It starts instantly, runs and drives in complete silence
with plenty of power. The car still has 100% of the original paint
in very presentable condition, with a great shine. The original
emblems are very nice as shown in the photos. There are a few
touch-ups in the finish, but it is still nearly new. There is a
crack very low in the windshield, almost completely hidden by the
passenger side wiper. We will have a replacement shortly. The
engine compartment and trunk are in beautiful original condition.
It has power steering and brakes, power windows, 6 way Power seat,
an AM Radio with a rear speaker. The car is in excellent mechanical
condition. Everything works. The clock is a bit intermittent, but
runs most of the time. It seems to rest when the car is turned off
but starts again when the car is restarted. The Heat and Defroster
system works as well. The factory Air Conditioning operates but is
cool, not cold. It still runs on the old R12 Refrigerant and hasnt
been refilled in 20 years. The tires are newer 225/75 x 14 All
Season Radials with nearly 100% tread life remaining. This is a
beautiful original 1965 Chrysler New Yorker Town Sedan with many
original features that anyone can drive. Cruise nights, local car
shows and any where else, this big cruiser will get you and the
whole family there safely and in style. It is recently been fully
serviced and is ready to go. Call or come on in for a test drive.
