Very Rare 1968 Pontiac Grand Prix / 428ci 375hp Factory 4 speed One of 195 Grand Prix's made with this engine & transmission combo One of 77 Grand Prix's made with this engine, transmission and factory A/C!
Last of the Grand Prix B-body, this one year only body style is just that, Style! This big Pontiac cruizer looks beautiful from every angle. From the sloping roof line in the center, to the hide-a-way headlights and long horizontal rear bumper.
This classic was born with one of Pontiacs most powerful engines, second only to the 428 H.O. with 390hp, 15hp more than the car we are offering here. The H.O. was Not available with Air Conditioning. This car has Air Conditioning and a host of other nice features all of which work as they should. Power steering, power brakes, full center console, power windows, AM-FM stereo with Reverb, Strato bucket seats, Deluxe steering wheel with tilt wheel and more. The interior is immaculate and all NOS new. It has just 76,260 actual miles and was fully restored several years back. The 428 matching numbers engine (WG code) was completely rebuilt top and bottom and blueprinted as well. A 10.5:1 compression and dual exhaust are all stock. She runs perfectly and stops as she should. The front end is all new so driving is straight and true.
The Tri-Power setup was an add-on installed by the previous owner. The Tri-Power setup was no longer available in 1968. We are including the correct manifold with the sale of the vehicle at no additional charge.
All gauges, features and options work as they should including the A/C and more. The interior is completely NOS new. The power windows move quickly and easily. The AM-FM stereo with Reverb sounds great and yes, even the clock works. The clock does seem to slow down at some point during the evening but we do not know when. It works when we are looking at it!!! Spooky?? Maybe, but I think it stops when then the power is turned off... Ok, enough about the clock. ;)
The paperwork is complete with ALL PHS documentation and a full binder of receipts and history including previous owner, window sticker, Protecto Plate, a letter from the President of PMD to the original owner from 1983, owners manual, dealership brochure and more. Also included is a March 2017 Pontiac Oakland Club's Smoke magazine with this car featured on the front cover and a 5 page article inside.
This is a very hard to find classic especially in this condition.. It has everything you want in a big cruiser and nothing you dont. If you have any questions, please ask! She is ready! Just fly in and drive home to Anywhere USA.

As the movement toward the electrification was, so to speak, picking up steam, car designers said they looked forward to exploring the freedom in styling they expected with bulky internal combustion engines being replaced by electric motors and battery packs. To date, most electric cars look pretty much like those powered by petroleum. However, that […]

Everything has to start somewhere, and that includes your first time driving on a race track. Most of us have seen videos of inexperienced drivers cracking up their cars on a track, be it on the famed Nurburgring in Germany or some local road course. It’s ugly and nobody wants to be that guy or […]

When I would introduce Dicken Wear to people, I would say, “You know ‘the most interesting man in the world’ (from the Dos Equis commercials)? He’s got nothing on this man. Meet Dicken.” Dicken may have been one of the most influential characters in motorsports and the automobile business that you never heard of. Some […]
The headline for the Pick of the Day advertisement says simply: 1976 Ford Bronco for sale. But open the ad and you find something weirdly different, something that makes you squint your eyes and scratch your head and say, “What the what?” Oh yeah, it’s a Bronco all right, at least mechanically, but one that […]
Acres of fine European automobiles reduced to rust, rot and twisted metal, piled high on each other in a massive wrecking yard, is the subject of a new photography book named, appropriately, Junkyard. Perished Porsches, mangled Mercedes-Benzes, BMWs, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Maseratis and other esteemed cars in various states of battered decay fill the pages […]
