Vehicle Description
This 1978 International Scout II is a very nicely restored vehicle
with new metal where needed all professionally done. It looks
fantastic and the interior floors were also all painted when they
had the body off while being restored. This particular Scout came
out of Colorado and was owned by a gentlemen who used it to bid
jobs for his Forestry Company back in the day. He used it primarily
in the mountains where his bigger truck could not go as easily.
When it was not used for that it did not get used and the 2 Owners
of this vehicle claim the miles are original. I do not have
paperwork to confirm this, but I cannot dispute it either. The
Restoration was done in the last couple of years and still looks
excellent!
The body on this Scout is so nice and the paint is gorgeous and
straight. It was repainted the original color of Omaha Orange and
the body was removed to repair any corrosion and everything was
completely painted when finished including the inside of the floors
and the underside. The interior is excellent!!! Front and rear
seats were recovered and there was also new Carpet added. Dash
looks to be original and is in good shape. The engine is believed
to be the original 304 V8. When the Scout was restored they
obviously pulled the engine and new gaskets were installed. The
engine was not rebuilt because there was no need to be rebuild it.
It had good compression and ran excellent...it still does. The
Transmission is the 727 Automatic and it shifts great. It has Dana
44 Axles front and rear with 3.54 Gears. It is a very mechanically
sound truck.
This Scout runs and drives very nice.....just as a stock Scout
should. All lights, blinkers, horn and wipers are working. This is
an awesome Scout II for someone to drive and enjoy. We hand pick
each vehicle, drive it, inspect it, and make sure it is ready for
you to enjoy! We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first
hand and accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives.
