2000 BMW K1200 LT Motorcycle
Here's where it pays to have lots of vacation time. While luxury
and comfort are a given (check out the 6-CD changer and heated seat
system), what's surprising is how well the K 1200 LT handles,
cutting through corners with amazing agility. For that, you can
thank the smooth shifting, 5-speed overdrive with reverse gear, the
Telelever front and Paralever rear suspension and the big Brembo
triple-disc brakes with ABS II. Stuff those saddlebags and go.
This one owner, consigner stated original miles bike, is in good
condition. A few scrapes on the saddle bags, (more like luggage
compartments) and some chrome scratching give an indication that
this bike may bottom out on a rougher road. Overall minor damage
for the condition of the remainder of this beautiful ride, draped
in Canyon Red.
Under the cowling, a 1173cc engine produces 100 horsepower at the
crank, marking this newest version of the K, a wonderful motor that
balances power with fuel economy while being ultra-smooth. The K12
motor has 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead cams. Then
combine fuel injection, a catalytic converter and Bosch Mototronic
engine management and you have a powerplant that runs clean, smooth
and strong.
Like to run a lot of gadgets or want the absolute biggest driving
lights money can afford? The LT comes with a 60-amp alternator that
puts out 840 watts. For those fuzzy on what number like that mean,
many modern cars use 60-amp alternators.
The gearbox is a 5-speed unit and the clutch is a very European
single-plate dry-clutch and hydraulically actuated. The final drive
is a shaft that runs through BMW's patented Paralever rear
suspension. The Paralever is a single sided swing arm that has been
designed to eliminate the jacking effect of shaft drives making the
rear of the bike stay steady regardless of what you do with the
throttle.
Plenty of gadgets adorn this cruiser and will make life on the long
haul absolutely pleasurable. This combined with BMW reliability,
creates a road worthy combination that will see a lot of miles with
smiles on faces. Be sure to clean the bugs out of your teeth when
