In 1992, Ford introduced the ninth generation of the ever-popular
F-series truck. For the second time, the new model was a reworked
version of the 1980 F-series truck with a facelift and other
cosmetic changes. Also for 1992, the FlareSide bed made its first
appearance since 1987. By 1997, the F-150 was due for a full
redesign and production of the ninth generation F-series came to a
halt.
This 1994 F-150 is perhaps the most immaculate, near-mint example
available. With just 24,055 actual miles on the odometer, this
truck has seen a mere fraction of the use that its assembly line
companions surely have. This low-mileage beauty is nearly perfect
inside and out! There is no rust, and even the underside of the
truck looks like it has hardly seen any use. The doors open and
shut like a new truck, and even the running boards have minimal
scuffing. The bed looks as if nothing has ever been put in it! The
deep blue paint is both subtle and captivating at the same time;
the white divider is just the right amount of contrast.
Stepping into the unused interior is an experience all of its own.
The seat is soft and free from stains and wear. All of the plastics
are the original blue color; a vibrant color that has been lost to
sun fading in most examples! With the exception of a minor crack in
the passenger's side dashboard and some wear by the headlight
switch, the interior is free of blemishes and looks as if the truck
has never been driven.
Under the hood is a Ford 5.0-liter V8, the most appropriate choice
for an F-150 of this vintage. Everything is clean and present, with
no visible cosmetic damage other than some expected aging on
various pieces. Again, as with much of this F-150, the engine bay
looks as if it has seen almost no use.
This is a well-optioned truck in near-mint condition. With such low
miles, and in such condition, this truck would be ideal as a Ford
truck enthusiast's collector item or a show vehicle. Everything
works as it should, and this might be as close to buying a new 1994
F-150 as you will ever get!
