1985 Jaguar XJ6 Series III, 88 k mi
All original, not restored, and in superb condition. One of the last real Jaguars before Ford took over.
Two owners. One lady owner for 25 years, first in CA and later FL, she drove only 72,000 miles in that time. Always Jaguar Dealer maintained, records available. I am an enthusiast Jaguar owner (my first was in 1961, a 1954 Mk 7).
After I purchased the car in 2010 I replaced the water pump, all coolant hoses and belts. I set out to replace the flexible brake hoses and eventually replaced the entire braking system with all new components and upgraded the pads to EB Redstuff Ceramic with matching High Performance rotors. The braking is phenomenal.
Apart from routine maintenance and a replacement alternator, the car has needed nothing in my eight years of ownership.
Tires are Goodyear Assurance ComforTred and have only 4,800 miles on them.
The original radio/cassette player has been replaced with a Blaupunkt radio/CD player. The original Jaguar radio/cassette player is included.
The XK motor and the Borg Warner automatic transmission are original and have no problems. The A/C is ice cold. There are two or three minor 'to fix' items, the cruise control needs a new bellows and the horn button needs attention.
I ran this car only for "weekend drives" and Jaguar Owners Club Meetings, it has never given me a moment's anxiety. I have just completed an oil and filter change, chassis lube and K & N air filter clean & recharge and right now both tanks are full. You will be all ready to roll, enjoying the pride of ownership and the pure joy of driving a Classic Jaguar.
