Passing back through is one of our most favorite Porsches we've
ever had in inventory. We certainly have had many great rare
Porsches over the years, and chassis 303997 is one of the best
surviving short wheel base 911s in existence. One of our sayings
here is all great cars have great homes, you just don't find these
original 911s on the market place.
We first acquired chassis 303997 approximately 15 years ago. We
were a bit skeptical when we got the phone call, but astonished
when we saw this no storied 911 in it's original state complete
with all the "spares" we're typically looking for. Accompanied by
it's manuals, jack, tool kit, and service documentation (verifying
it's original 86K miles) this '66 SWB is that much more
special.
Chassis 303997 had sat for nearly 20 years before us, and when we
got it home we brought the 911 back to life. Taking care of typical
mechanical items and a lot of elbow grease rubbing on the thin
paint. The outcome as 303997 still sits today in it's beautiful
unmolested state, and everything you would expect from a 52 year
old well cared for 911. The "patina" tells that there are no
stories, and you leave every blemish alone b/c it's only original
once and lends to the provenance on 303997.
We all know the iconic status of the first generation 911, but to
have one as it left the factory in a great color combo is simply
special. Chassis 303997 is ready for it's next owner/driver who
will no doubt appreciate the originality and continue to drive and
preserve this spectacular early 911.
