present this 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Lingenfelter Edition. Made
at GM's Bowling Green, Kentucky factory. It left the line with
Chevrolet's hand-built LS7 7.0L V-8 (427 CID) making 505 horsepower
and 470 pounds-feet of torque. That changed when the previous owner
sent his new Corvette to Lingenfelter Performance Engineering to
where they enhanced the car with their supercharger package
amplifying the car's performance greatly. Dressed in Velocity
Yellow (code 45) with black trim, the car's paint and trim are in
overall excellent condition. The car's bodywork is straight and
solid, its engine bay is quite tidy, the cargo area is in great
shape and contains a 500-watt sub woofer. The body-colored bumpers
look just as fresh as the rest of the body. 3M's clear bra protects
the car's nose, 10 inches up the hood, on the side skirts and on
the painted-powder-coated parts of the wheels. The side doors open
out conventionally and also open vertically, or scissor-style. A
carbon fiber rear spoiler has been added along with matching
taillight louvers. There are even LED side marker lights, courtesy
of Oracle. This 'Vette rolls on Michelin Super Sports radials, size
275/30ZR19 in front and 325/25ZR20 in rear. The previous owner
reports the rubber has between seven and 10,000 miles on them. Each
tire is wrapped around a black 360 Degree-California five-spoke
custom wheel with yellow beauty rings. The wheels and tires are all
in overall very good condition. Under that forward-hinged hood the
LS7 V-8 with sequential fuel injection (SFI) and enhanced with
Edelbrock's E-Force TVS2300 supercharger. Horsepower increased from
505 to 657 while torque rose from 470 to 582 pounds-feet! The
E-Force package includes; a black powder coated finish, based on
OEM Eaton supercharger unit, properly sized fuel injectors,Kenne
Bell Boost-a-pump fuel pump voltage booster, Lingenfelter 160
thermostat, excellent drivability, professional installation,
testing and PCM calibration. Integral to the E-Force system is a
design that lets the car retain 'sleeper' status. It uses the stock
hood, so owners can make underhood performance improvements without
making the car less reliable and keeping the stock appearance if
the owner desires. Backing up that engine is a Tremec T-56
six-speed manual transmission and a 3.42:1 rear end. While the car
was at Lingenfelter's, it received a heavy-duty clutch and Corsa
performance exhaust. The E-Force package, clutch and exhaust
upgrades represent a $14,000 investment. Inside, the car's Ebony
interior is in overall excellent shape. The leather bucket seats
have been redone with yellow trim around the Ebony leather and
yellow highlights grace the center console and gearshift boot. The
black carpet looks great, the three-spoke steering wheel with
driver's airbag looks great. There are also passenger front and
side airbags for both occupants. The instrument panel features a
heads-up display unit. It and the inner door panels are all in
excellent order. The center console is hard to miss with its
vibrant yellow trim and the shift lever looks great decked out in
its matching yellow boot. Completing the interior is a Bose AM/FM
stereo with six CD changer and that 500-watt subwoofer in the cargo
area behind the seats. The Z06 arrived as a 2006 model in the third
quarter of 2005 and is the lightest of all Corvette models. The Z06
was equipped with the largest-displacement small-block engineever
produced, a new, hand-built, 7.0LV-8 engine, codenamedLS7, is the
most powerfulnaturally aspirated engineput into a production car
from General Motors. In addition to the larger displacement engine,
the Corvette Z06 has a racing-inspired,dry sumpoiling system,
andtitanium connecting rods. The frame of the Z06 is constructed
from aluminum, saving 136 pounds over the standard steel frame.
Other weight saving measures, such as balsa wood/carbon
fibercomposite floors, carbon fiber front fenders and wheelhouses
andmagnesium alloyengine cradles, were used. The Z06's body
differentiates itself from the standard Corvette with its larger
front and rear fenders, an intake inlet scoop on the front bumper
and the rear fenders contain ducts to aid in cooling the rear
brakes. The Z06 was the officialpace carfor both the 2006Daytona
500and theIndianapolis 500race. The Z06 contains the following
enhancements over the standard C6 Corvette: Aluminum chassis with
fixed roof for more rigidity and better aerodynamics Larger/stiffer
anti-sway bars Stiffer springs and shocks Larger rear spoiler and
front splitter Transmission cooler Unique front fascia with intake
inlet Wider carbon fiber front and fiberglass rear fenders
Functional front and rear brake ducts for added brake system
cooling Unique light weight, forged aluminum 18-inch front and
19-inch rear wheels; painted finish standard and chromed finish
optional Wider 275/35ZR18 tires in the front and wider 325/30ZR19
tires in the rear Larger six-piston front and four-piston rear
calipers, including cross-drilled 14-inch front rotors and 13-inch
rear rotors The engines are hand-built at GM's Performance Build
Center. Each engine is built by a single person and that builder's
name is attached. Competition to this Z06 in 2006 included BMW's Z4
Coupe, Dodge's SRT-10 Viper Coupe, Ferrari's 575 M Maranello,
Ford's GT, Lamborghini's Gallardo, Mercedes-Benz's SL 55 AMG Coupe
and Porsche's 997 GT2 Coupe. Documentation includes an Edelbrock
