Vehicle Description
Most people who fell in love with the Land Cruiser fell in love
with a J4. After achieving an international reputation with the
J2/J3, Toyota embarked on a redesign process that resulted in an
iconic and memorable look that would define Land Cruiser for the
next two decades. Initially, the J4 simply offered a slightly
different wheelbase than the previous production model. By the end
of the production run, the J4 models boasted four different
wheelbase lengths. The "long" and "extra long" wheelbase trucks
have grown to become some of the most desirable vintage Toyotas of
the generation.
This FJ45 long wheelbase has undergone extensive restoration work
and is shown in Spring Green over gorgeous Coral interior. It
features the optional "headache rack" and still retains it's
factory tool kit! This 1965 Land Cruiser was purchased out of
Eastern Washington state by the owner who went on to restore the
truck. Extra attention was devoted to making sure every nut and
bolt was removed and replaced with correct hardware for the time
period. Well maintained and cosmetically refreshed this FJ45 is the
nicest examples on the market and will draw stares and conversation
anywhere you adventure to. Don't miss a rare opportunity to own the
best.
The body on this FJ was in very nice condition prior to the
repaint. The truck came out of the eastern Washington desert and
showed very minimal signs of corrosion. During the repaint bed was
removed, chassis painted and cleaned and then re-assembled. The
paint on the truck is fully redone and finished in its original
color of Spring Green. This truck was completely disassembled with
all parts removed before paint. The truck was very straight and
undamaged and required very little body work. The exterior trim and
glass is in excellent shape!
The suspension on this long wheelbase FJ45 was also gone through
and completely redone at the time of paint. The Old Man Emu lift
gives the truck a little more aggressive look while still
maintaining an original feel. Both front manual- locking Warn hubs
are in great shape and function correctly as they should. The
exterior trim and glass is in excellent shape! All 4 split-rim
wheels have also been gone through and refinished. They are wrapped
in period appropriate 7.00-15 LT tires.
Inside this old Land Cruiser is like a trip to the past. Everything
is in working condition and looks as it should from near new! The
beautiful Coral seats are a great contrasting color with the Spring
Green exterior and really set the whole interior off. All handles,
latches and assemblies have been replaced or refinished to keep
everything crisp and new in the cab. The heater unit has been gone
through and is also fully functional. Recently the truck also
received a fresh headliner. All gauges and controls work in the cab
as well.
Mechanically this Land Cruiser runs GREAT! The Toyota starts right
up and shifts quite easily. The 1F 4.3L engine has been fully tuned
up with oil change and runs like a top! The 4x4 system functions
perfectly. The engine compartment was fully detailed and cleaned.
During it's time in the shop, the FJ engine bay transformed with
many new components. The 1F received some head work as it was decked
and polished with new valves and guides where needed prior to
setting clearances. The straight six saw a new OEM water pump and
thermostat as well as new manifold, timing, oil pan and head
gaskets. At the same time the carb was rebuilt, the valve cover and
air cleaner powder coated, and new plugs and wires were installed.
The two tone horns were brought back to spec and a new battery was
secured down. It also has its factory complete tool kit- very rare
to see!.
All in all, this is one of the cleanest and most original Land
Cruisers that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It
has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous
owners. This FJ45 is a fantastic example and will be the envy of
any true 4x4 lover! Any further questions please call Jon at
