thought of a classic Volkswagen Bus but hoped to find one that has
been upgraded, MotoeXotica Classic Cars has the Loaf for you in
this 1979 Volkswagen Bus, which was the final model year for the
bus in the United States. It resided in Florida for the past decade
with the same loving owner! Finished with a white roof over Reef
Blue, the van's paint and trim are in overall excellent condition.
This is a California-style Custom Cruiser, with a lowered stance,
Wildwood front disc brakes and rear air shock suspension. The
bodywork on this van is straight and solid, its engine bay is
extremely tidy, the white bumpers are in excellent order, and the
cargo area is in satisfactory order. This Loaf rides on Continental
radials, size 155/60R15 in front and 195/65R15 in rear. Each tire
surrounds a Fuchs alloy wheel. The tires are in excellent condition
while the Porsche-style Fuchs wheels present very well. Out back, a
stout 2.3L flat four-cylinder engine with dual Weber carburetors,
other updated performance modifications and custom exhaust replaces
the factory 2L flat four-cylinder. Buttoned to that motor is a
four-speed manual transmission. Inside, the van shows a fresh
interior, which will seat up to nine people. The front buckets and
two bench seats all look great. Instead of carpet, the floors have
been treated to an application of bed liner material for
protection. The white headliner is in great shape, as is the
two-spoke steering wheel. The inner door panels and instrument
panel are in satisfactory order. The dash contains an array of VDO
gauges from a Porsche. The tachometer, odometer and oil/temp gauge
are inoperative. Capping off the interior are wooden storage trays
under the dash and a JVC AM/FM stereo with CD player. Competition
to this VW in 1979 included Chevrolet's G10 Van, Dodge's B-Series
Ram Van, Ford's Econoline Van and GMC's VanDura. If you want
something different to take to a cruise night or a car show, this
VW Bus fits the bill with its crunked body and Fuchs wheels. Stop
by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today and look it over for yourself.
