Vehicle Description
1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible
Imagine tooling down the blue highway in a 1960's classic, BUT
being kissed by the sun, with the wind in your hair. The Olds
Cutlass described within will allow you to romanticize about that
drive, as well as about quality of build, and the new decade muscle
and metal. But while doing so you would be remiss about design as
well. Like the sharp curved blade it is named for, the Cutlass will
cut through the air even if you are driving it on the edge.
Here we have a very nice consignment from 1964 that will bring a
smile to your face and mess up your hair. Consigner stated 67, 000
original miles (unverified) however given the condition above and
underneath, it is very viable. A nice straight car with lots of
conveniences for 1964, well worth a look to go back to a bygone
era.
Exterior
A recently repainted white exterior, and a good job of it I might
add, gleams in the sunlight. Throw in a replaced convertible top
that goes up and down with the flick of a switch, and you have a
combination of instant gratification.
Throw on some original factory wheels and covers, add the original
badging in "patina" condition, as well as original grille, and
bumpers, and you have as close to an updated original version as
they get.
Interior
Original gold interior in all its un sun kissed glory shows little
fading. The front buckets frame a center console that runs from
dash to rear bench. Original dash houses standard instrumentation,
and an aftermarket tachometer which hangs below. A stock AM radio
is present as well. Door panels are pristine and have the electric
window toggles. Power steering, power brakes, power windows, and
aforementioned power top switches are all fully operational.
Drivetrain
A pop of the hood reveals a patina surfaced but clean engine bay. A
shining gold mill which translates to an F-85 330ci V8 High
Compression powerplant, which is fed by a 4-barrel carburetor, and
attached to a 3-speed automatic transmission, and that is all you
need. Oh, and I need to mention the very clean underside of this
car, which shows the care it was subjected to.
Not unlike a favorite toy, that our consigner took very good care
of, and because it was the favorite, made good use of it. This car
comes with a full set of shop manuals, the owner's manual, and we
will throw in a few trophies for good measure. Get your motor
runnin...get out on the highway...lookin for adventure!
