For Sale: 1941 Cadillac Series 62 in Bedford Hts., Ohio

Vehicle Description

It has rightly been said that, in terms of aesthetics, Cadillac was in 1941 what Ford was in 1937, what Duesenberg was in 1929, and what LaSalle was in 1927. Overall, the entire 1941 Cadillac model lineup possessed a truly wonderful style and grace, coupled with the marque’s characteristically advanced engineering that was seldom seen in competing products.

Visually, the 1941 Cadillac was a masterpiece of subtle, flowing curves that began with a bold and distinctive grille design. The flat, chromed grille and domed hood were dominant, and two new styling concepts were available:

  • the horizontal valance that enclosed the space between the bodywork and the bumpers
  • the front fender wind-split creases that began at the headlamps and extended horizontally back along each rear flank of the body.

The sole available engine, Cadillac’s refined 346 cu in V8 delivered remarkably silent and smooth operation, 150 horsepower and plenty of torque. Ride and handling characteristics remain quite good, even by today’s standards, making Cadillacs of the immediate pre-war era excellent choices for collectors and enthusiasts who enjoy driving.

This 1941 Cadillac Opera Coupe started life as a Fleetwood 60 Special 4-door. The owner had a vision of a coupe with a removable hardtop, and no expense was spared with a frame-off restoration.  A recent professional restoration of the interior, carpet and trunk adds to its appeal.

The chrome is excellent, and the paint is polished with very few blemishes. There is a new wiring harness, and a complete service and tune up includes new spark plugs, wires, condenser, points, valves and rings. The gas tank has been cleaned and coated, and the fuel lines are new. The dash is beautiful, as are all the working gauges.

A full CCCA classic, this 1941 Cadillac is ready for any Caravan or show. It is a one-off coupe with opera windows in the rear and a front leather top section that can be removed to enjoy the sunshine while still protecting the rear seat passengers.

It is definitely a one-of-a-kind that will draw a crowd wherever sit is shown or toured.
