Viper GTS Blue Pearl for a stand out color that was originally Wimbledon White. And if you take the time to look it over carefully, you’ll see a rather significant investment in the paint, super straight panels, good alignment, and a brilliant shine that looks like money well spent so it’s still crisp with few signs of use. Added a few spiffs like the GT-spec fog lights up front. The chrome and stainless trim are in excellent condition, the glass is clear, and there are recent weather seals throughout, so it feels robust going down the road.
The interior is likewise all-new, and it was upgraded to the Deluxe interior, also known as the “Pony” interior (dig the running horses on the seat backs). The color change from original all black to black and white works in your favor and provides additional pop and stands out. All new seats to include solid cushioning and seat covers, new door panels, all new chrome inside, headliner, carpets, dash pad, and the steering wheel. For 1966, all Mustangs received the 1965 GT’s five-gauge instrument panel, and they all work properly and accented with LED lighting. A center console is a nice addition to the options list and a new AM/FM digital stereo radio with aux has been recently installed. Floor mats with Mustang ponies, a back seat that is brand new as well. A fully detailed trunk with full-sized spare round out this car’s list of virtues. Updated LED taillights provide sharper visibility to those following.
Converting a six-cylinder Mustang into a V8 was never the desire for this car. If you want modified or upgraded stock this isn’t the car for you. This is the mustang that stays true to the purist and keeps the nostalgia of original true to heart.
If you love Mustangs, this one will delight you. It drives great, it’s affordable, and there’s a lot more than the asking price wrapped up in the restoration. The car works like it should and the fact that it has lived such an easy life is only a bonus. Time to start having fun.
Need spot in garage for another car, hence the sale. Nothing is needed on this car.

There was a new twist in the Ford vs. Chevy rivalry when it came to cars being searched during the month June on the ClassicCars.com marketplace. That twist was a Ford vs. Ford rivalry in which all-years Mustangs overtook all-years Ford in one of the two search lists. Oh, by the way, that all-years search […]
Dream Giveaway Garage and CJ Pony Parts are offering a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet as a grand prize in support of veterans’ and kids’ charities. It’s an opportunity to win a very rare, low-mileage classic. But there are only six more days to enter. The Pony Car Wars in the United States had […]
I was never a Fox Body Mustang fan, per se. It certainly was a big improvement on the Mustang II, but it never made me want to own one. I would however discover in auto crossing that these cars were far nimbler in the F-Street Class than my Pontiac Firebird. Being here at the ClassicCars.com […]
In the course of three weeks, I drove three performance cars: the Chevrolet Camaro SS with 455 horsepower from a 6.2-liter small block with direct injection; the Dodge Charger Scat Pack with 485 horsepower from a normally aspirated 392 Hemi; and the Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium with 332 horsepower from a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC […]
Ford is bringing back its heralded Mustang Mach I, and plans to do so this spring, which apparently means between now and the first day of summer, which this year is June 20. Note: This is the Mustang Mach I, not the Mach E, so it’s a high-performance sports coupe, not a utility vehicle, and […]
You know that Fox-body Mustangs are hitting it when hoon-meister Ken Block looks into turning one into a wildly original custom gymkhana car concept. Ford was looking ahead when it introduced in 1984 a different kind of performance Mustang, powered by a turbo/intercooled 4-cylinder engine. The Mustang SVO was immediately identifiable by its double-decker rear […]
“This is how we World Premier during quarantine!” Ken Block says. “Three guys locked down in different parts of the country, using video chat to give you the FIRST LOOK at what might be the very next ‘Hoonicorn’ project! “Check it out as I chat with Ash Thorp (Hollywood graphic artist and designer of the […]
Sometimes collector cars are bought simply because of their rarity and value. But sometimes they are bought because of their story. For example, Jay Leno says he doesn’t buy cars, he buys stories. The Pick of the Day is a car with a story. The car is a 1978 Ford Mustang II, certainly not widely […]
With a 1967 Ford Mustang 390 GT leading the way and selling for £63,250 ($79,320), England’s H&H Classics reports that its April 29 online auction posted £600,000 ($752,500) in revenue with a 70 percent sell-through rate. “The sale attracted some 387 online bidders with log-ins from as far afield as California and New Zealand,” the […]
Maybe we need the police to investigate this one because the Pick of the Day is an intriguing offer but the advertisement on ClassicCars.com doesn’t answer all of our questions. The car is an unusually all-black 1989 Ford Mustang with dog-dish hubcaps and what appears to be a lowered stance. That would make sense since […]
