Vehicle Description
Born and raised in California. Sold new 6-9-65 in Redding, not
transported west until 2017. It is exceptionally clean, actually
better then the pictures make it look. The salesmen and even the
detailers were commenting on how clean the car really is. The
reason we bought this car was because of the condition.
EXTERIOR: The car presents itself really, really well. Glass finish
paint, all the chrome sparkles and the glass is crystal clear. I'm
walking around inspecting it right now, the body is in excellent
shape. I don't see any signs of rust, there's no bubbling. Bottom
of the doors are spotlessly clean. All the gaps are tight, even the
windows fit real snug. It has had 1 exterior repaint and it is a
better job then the factory did. It has a glass finish. The chrome
and trim is actually amazing. It practically looks new. It sparkles
in places that should be dull, dirty or pitted by now. Upfront all
of the chrome including the grill, moldings, headlight bezels and
bumper look new. The chrome grill over the cornering lights look
new. The stainless trim down the sides and around all the glass is
straight and polished like chrome. Even the chrome grill on the
cowl is not pitted and actually sparkles. In back it's just as
good. The bumper, tail lights and trim practically looks brand new.
The glass is crystal clear. The door jambs have the original paint
and the original weather strips. It has 4 original T-3 headlights.
Wheels are custom but really ad some classy eye appeal. They do
have Cadillac center caps.
INTERIOR: Wow, I'm sitting inside the car and it's pretty amazing.
It is crisp and clean. Whoever owned this car took meticulous care
of it. The entire dash area is fabulous. Dash pad is not faded or
cracked, all the knobs and bezels still sparkle. Gauges are mint.
Headliner and visors look new. The seat cushions and upholstery are
mint. It still has it's original carpet and even the floor mats.
The only issue is the plastic armrests have cracked. Otherwise it
is mint inside this car. It has the power seats, antenna and
windows. I think the tilt-telescopic wheel is a rare, cool feature.
The original pouch with owner's manuals and warranty card with
original owners info and the selling dealers info is in the
glovebox.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: I bet the owner of this car actually cleaned
under the hood on a regular basis. Someone has done a very careful
job of cleaning and painting the engine the correct Cadillac blue.
The inner fenders, core support have the original semi gloss black
paint. The hinges are in their original cadium finish. Everything
on the firewall is excellent- the wires, vacuum hoses, a/c box is
still raw fiberglass, not painted over. Recent service included new
alternater, fuel pump, vacuum advance, set timing, replace water
pump and antifreeze, front crankshaft seal, set choke etc. Cap and
wires look new. Air conditioning system is all intact.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Well, to say the trunk is huge is an
understatement. It has it's original speckled colored cloth liner
with the cardboard side panels still in place. It is missing the
spare but does have the complete jack assembly. The bottom side of
the trunk lid and the jamb is very nice. It still has the original
rubber and it is cracking.
UNDERSIDE: Very clean original condition. No rust, all original
metal is still rock solid. Recent service included shocks, repair
trans cooler leak, steering box seal kit, input seal, adjust
brakes, tighten exhaust hangers. It has the original #s matching
Hydramatic trans.
I will admit whoever owned this car took better care of it then I
would have. With 108,000 miles, it could pass for 30,000 miles! If
you like a really clean original survivor, look no further. It's a
pleasure to drive too. Feels smooth and new!
