For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

To automotive purists, there's nothing better than a crisp muscle car that's been lovingly restored to factory specifications. For some, it's about preserving history. For others, it's about the unique feel of classic motoring and escapism to simpler times. Wrapping a stunning coat of Metallic Green 2-stage in subdued Rally Stripes, this old school Z/28 is about as cool as collector cars come. And if you're a discerning collector car enthusiast who's looking for something that's familiar but a bit different, it's a storied gem with unmatched polish!

CLASSIC GOOD LOOKS

Not far removed from a detailed, ground-up restoration, this crisp F1 reflects a mesmerizing coat of Dark Metallic Green 2-stage. That pigment is the perfect foundation for painted Tuxedo Black Rally Stripes, which look natural capping Satin Black rockers. And today, this awesome Chevy rolls as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards.

Those standards begin with a bright silver grille, which hangs an ornate Chevrolet bowtie between clear lights, a polished bumper and a requisite D80 chin spoiler. Behind that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads a flat hood, which reflects like-new glass that's seated under mirrored wipers, bright drip rails and straight stainless frames. At the sides of that hood, a clean profile plants traditional Camaro badging amid a standard mirror, factory door handles and stainless rocker trim. And at the back of that profile, an attractive D80 deck spoiler shades tasteful taillights and a guarded bumper.

CLASSIC POWER

Jump behind the wheel and you'll command 302 cubic inches of date-correct small block that, according to its "MO" assembly stamp, creates a correct 290 horsepower. At the top of that proven mill, exclusive Cowl Plenum Induction funnels breeze in to a modern Holley 4-barrel. That carb feeds an aluminum Winters intake, which rides between polished valve covers and hot Double Hump heads. Behind those covers, a traditional points distributor sequences ignition through loomed 7mm Premium Silicone Magnetic Suppression cables. Those wires snake around restored cast iron exhaust manifolds. And at the front of those tubes, deep groove pulleys spin a GM alternator next to correct smog equipment. Every bit as clean as its exterior, this Camaro's satin engine bay provides an excellent backdrop for the Chevy Orange engine. And many nice details, like a fresh brake booster, a fresh radiator and a fresh Delco Energizer battery topper complete the car's excellent assembly.

ROAD-READY MUSCLE

When the small block jumps to life, it spins torque through a tough Muncie 4-speed, which twists power to a correct, Z/28-spec axle that's finished with a posi-traction differential and brutal, 4.10 gears. That Satin Black pumpkin pushes a factory frame, which rolls on a fully rebuilt, factory-spec suspension. Turns come courtesy of standard manual steering. At the corners of those bones, power front disc and rear drum brakes bring everything to a tidy halt. Aluminized pipes bark the V8's roar through an H-shaped crossover and a correctly transverse muffler. And power meets the pavement through stainless-trimmed Rallies, which turn 215/70R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/As.

CONSERVATIVE CONTRAST

Between the doors you'll find a stylish Black interior that, in addition to being one of the most popular and versatile themes for timeless Detroit muscle, offers a subtle contrast to this Camaro's rich paint. At the center of the car, Standard bench and bucket seats provide comfy accommodations for four. In front of those mitts, a stainless-trimmed dash hangs rebuilt telemetry, complete with a 7,000 RPM Tick Tock Tachometer, next to a tasteful radio delete. At the base of that dash, fade-free carpet frames a wood-trimmed console that's finished with a polished Hurst shifter and 4-pack accessory gauges. Opposite that console, Standard side panels frame traditional door hardware. And the driver spins a reproduction Chevrolet Rally Wheel.

In closing, this top-notch Camaro represents 'muscle motoring' at its very finest, combining a vintage driving experience with handsome looks, a clean restoration and excellent power. Hit the backroads... Take it to the local cruise... Put it in a parade... Whatever you elect to do with this cool Chevy, it's sure to be the centerpiece of traffic, the focal point of your garage and, most importantly, the car you most look forward to being seen in!
