Oldsmobile's mid-size muscle machine, listed as a separate series
beginning in 1966, has a 112-inch wheelbase and a screaming 400 V8
motor with325hp/360lb-ft paired to a 4 speed Muncie. This
Oldsmobile is completely original and a great representation of the
1969 model year. The large, simple engine bay makes this car easy
to work on and the 'keep your car all GM' sticker adds nostalgia.
The interior is very comfortable with the black leather bucket
seats that hold you nicely when you drop the clutch and release the
torque of this 400 engine supplied by a Quadrajet. The large
secondary openings on the Quadrajet carburetor give you a unique
driving feel that only GM cars have! It also provides a smooth idle
and decent fuel economy, until you unleash the secondaries that is.
This Oldsmobile is very original and unmodified. The value will
continue to go up as you drive and enjoy this piece of history!
History;
1969 4-4-2s were very similar to the 1968 except the division tooth
between the grilles, the trunk lid inlets for the tail lights, wing
windows deleted on Holiday Coupes and convertibles, steering lock
ignition switch on the steering column, standard headrests were
added to the front seats, and the paint scheme. Twin hood stripes
were now available to highlight the new dual-bulged hood. The 4-4-2
numerals grew to nearly double their previous size. Optional disc
brakes now had updated single-piston calipers. The exhaust
manifolds featured a new center divider for better performance.
Other changes to the engine were minimal, but the Turnpike Cruiser
option was deleted.
