1963 CHEVROLET NOVA II 400 CONVERTIBLE This timeless classic 1963
Chevrolet Nova II 400 convertible has been owned by the same family
since 1966, always garaged, well maintained and never driven in bad
weather. One repaint in the original Tuxedo Black color. Original
glass, original AM radio (still works). The 6 cylinder 253ci engine
has been completely rebuilt. The block was baked and magnafluxed,
align bored, bored .030 over with torque plate. Block was decked
and a 194ci head installed. A performance cam shaft was installed
along with all new valve gears, and hardened exhaust valve seats.
All the rebuild was completely balanced. It is topped with a
Clifford Ram intake manifold with a manual choke Edelbrock 4bbl
carb and Clifford headers exiting through true dual exhaust with
Turbo mufflers. The distributor is a GM HEI with a hotter coil and
performance curve settings and a heavy duty battery. Transmission
is a Turbo 350 with torque converter and a manual valve body
operated with a B&M Silver floor shifter allowing for automatic
operation or manual gear changes. The rear mono leaf springs were
changed to heavy duty leaf springs and heavy duty shocks. The front
end was completely rebuilt with anti-sway bar, heavy duty coils and
heavy duty shocks. The entire brake system was redone with all new
stainless steel lines, new hardware, new front drums and wheel
cylinders. A dual chamber master cylinder was installed. A newer
radiator was modified to accept the 350 transmission cooling lines
and installed. A fiberglass cowl induction hood was installed. The
convertible top is new with new rear window, new rubber moldings
and new boot and is operated by hydro-electric set-up. The 13"
wheels and tires were changed to new 14" rims with new tires. This
is a unique "must see" car that drives and performs well.
