GTO...The first thing most people think of is something similar too what you see right here. Not the Ferrari it's named after, but the car that arguably started the Muscle Car era in 1964. By the time this car rolled off the line, everyone knew what this car was as, thanks to John Delorean and his in-genius idea of dropping a large American V8 into an intermediate body style.
Enough of the nickle history lesson, take a good look at this 1966 GTO Convertible! This particular GTO was treated to a body-off the frame restoration. One of the favorite years of the GTO among enthusiasts, this one is beautiful! The smooth black paint shines as deep as you can see. The original Tri-power 389 went away years ago, and the car now has a nicely rebuilt, strong running 400 equipped with the three deuces on top.
The Muncie 4 speed transmission was also rebuilt during the restoration as well as the differential so the car runs, shifts, and transfers power to the street just the way it was originally intended.
This GTO possesses an ominous look with a touch of class worthy of such a finely detailed factory muscle car.
All of the factory Rally gauges set in the original wood grain dash work great, as do all of the lights and accessories. The trunk compartment is as clean as it can be, and the undercarriage looks as if brand new!
Have you been considering or perhaps searching for awhile now for just the right GTO to come along? You've been patient, maybe passed on a few as they just weren't quite what you were looking for? Well, take a good hard look at this beauty. Black on Black on Black, Tri-power, 4 speed, Posi!!! What else is there?
