Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this stunning frame off restored 1971 Triumph TR6 which is beautiful overall condition and comes with Overdrive. Previous owner had this car for nearly 14 years and this TR6 has been slowly restored over several years beginning in 2006 by this owner. His friend owned the car for over 20 years prior and the car was removed from the frame and restored and painted around 20 years ago in 1998. The build is documented with a stack of receipts and service records dating back to 2006. This TR6 has been completely restored including a beautiful paint job, added Quantum Mechanics Overdrive Transmission, a restored interior, 4 newer Panasport wheels, and a complete Powerblock wire kit was installed. This TR6 is turn key and is ready for show or go. This TR6 is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Red exterior over Black interior.
Exterior
The Red exterior is in very nice restored condition. This TR6 was treated to a professional paint job and still shows very well. The body was completely removed from the frame and the engine bay was fully stripped and the engine removed prior to the repaint and color change from factory white. The paint is in great condition and has a nice shine and great gloss and is smooth to the touch. Engine was removed and the engine bay has the same level of paint as the body does. The body is very solid and the gaps and lines are terrific on this car. The underside is very solid as well and is nicely detailed as is the rest of the car and still shows very well for being done nearly 20 years ago. Front suspension has been restored as evident in the photos and included receipts and new rear and front sway bars were added. The differential was rebuilt and the mounts have been reinforced and new differential mounts and bushings were installed. Both bumpers are in good condition. The tires have good tread left and are sized 205/65/15 and the Panasport wheels look fantastic on the car and are like new. The convertible top was replaced and is in great condition and has the zip out rear window. All weather stripping and seals are in like new condition and have been replaced. Trunk is very solid and clean. All glass has been replaced. There is a kill switch on a toggle switch and the electric fuel pump is on a toggle switch as well. The hood release is on a toggle switch as well and is released electronically. The fog lights are on a toggle as well.
Interior
The Black interior of this TR6 is in terrific restored condition. The seat covers are the original style and they are in great overall condition with no excessive wear and no seam splits or rips. The seat covers are soft and the seats are very comfortable. The carpet was replaced and in good overall condition with no major wear or holes. The door panels were replaced as well and are in like new condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. A center console and arm rest unit was added and has a working auxiliary/cigarette lighter/power source that works well and adds to the comfort of cruising. New dash top, crash pads, knobs, mirrors and dash support side panels were installed. Rear interior panels were replaced as well. The wood dash surround is in good condition and looks great in the car. The gauges were replaced with Auto Meter white faced gauges and work very well and are bright and crisp and all work properly, but the gas gauge reads a little high. The clock gauge keeps accurate time and the digital Speedometer works properly too. The horn and wipers and all lights work. The lights are very crisp and bright in this car and the high beams work and so do the fog lights and hazard lights. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. Currently the heater and blower motor are not functional.
Mechanical
This TR6 is in superb mechanical condition and it runs and drives very well. Included with the sale are receipts and service records dating back to 2006. The engine is a rebuilt engine purchased from the Roadster Factory around 10,000 miles ago. It pulls very well and runs and drives wonderfully. Quantum Mechanics type "A" Overdrive transmission was added and really adds to the driving experience especially at higher sustained speeds. Per previous owner it has worked flawlessly since installed over 12 years ago. A complete Powerblock rewire kit was installed around 20 years ago, this car was one of the first cars the wiring harness was installed in. It has been very reliable over the last few decades and is still working well today. The SU carbs were overhauled and are like new and perform well, see included receipt for over $1200. An aluminum flywheel was added, see receipt. A new steering rack and mounts were installed as well. The hubs were rebuilt. We have driven this TR6 numerous times and it always performs well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. This TR6 is an excellent driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. The brakes have been serviced with a new master cylinder and they do not pull and stop as they should. The clutch was also refreshed and the car shifts smoothly without issue. The exhaust was upgraded and sounds great at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is meticulously clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
