Vehicle Description
Not every manufacture can continue to produce a vehicle that was
introduced in 1967, but the legendary Volkswagen T2 was still being
produced until 1994 in Mexico, and up to 2013 in Brazil. This 1989
VW T2 is quite special in that it is known as the T2c. It features
a much more modern water cooled 1.8L inline 4 cylinder engine. The
engine was swapped in an allegedly came out of a 1980's GTI. The
new engine gives this bus some spunk, and the owner claims it has
no issue rolling down the freeway at 85mph. Other changed include a
revised dashboard and a large front mounted radiator as well as a
revised interior. Known worldwide as the T2 and often called Kombi,
Transporter, Bus, Camper, in individual markets, these are known as
Caravelle in Mexico.
