If you are considering a vintage truck for daily use, or a weekend
cruiser, and if you like the idea of a little “patina” here and
there. Perhaps a Rat-Rod, Hot-Rod, Barn Find or any other somewhat
overused term we've all heard for this type of truck, two things
come to mind that are a must-have. Both are very important, and
they are safety, and reliability!
This particular truck fits that bill nicely. This GMC was built by
a professional shop with quality components that were installed and
executed correctly.
To discuss the virtues of a quality paint job here would be
pointless, or at the very least, a small waste of time. That being
said, the look of this truck is great! Don't ya think? The engine
is a rebuilt 283 Chevy with a very cool intake and carburetor set
up that works great. This truck starts right up strong, and runs
excellent. Push in the easy hydraulic clutch, pull the 3 speed
manual shift lever down into first, ease the clutch out, and listen
to the dual exhaust rumble as you cruise down the road. The truck
is comfortable too with the late model Camaro seat that fits in the
cab perfectly. All of the gauges are easy to read, and at night put
of a nice soft glow that adds to the vintage vibe this truck has so
much of.
Power steering and power front disc brake add to the driving
pleasure of this truck, and of course, one of the bonuses of a
truck with this style of paint is, you can park it anywhere without
worry. Keep in mind, you're gonna attract quite a few onlookers no
matter where you go as this truck comes fully loaded with
“Character”!
That's a '51 Pontiac hood ornament, and '41 Chevy tail lights. The
bed is solid, so you can actually use it without worry. This truck
is all metal, and is truly a very solid, fun truck to drive. Those
are vintage cast torq-thrust 5 spoke mag wheels wrapped in radial
tires. The bottom line here is: This is a safe, reliable, nicely
built truck, built with quality components that make it fun to
drive anytime, anywhere!
