Vehicle Description
STK 2498 1987 Mercedes-Benz Unimog UI300L
Mercedes Benz produced over 30,000 Unimog 435 Series vehicles
between 1975 and 1993. They were sold as either U1300L or U1700L
models. The best selling version was the U1300L, which was used
extensively by fire departments in Germany. This 1987 U1300L was
purchased from the Atkinson Company of UK, imported into the U.S.
and has a clear NC title. It is currently registered as a
commercial vehicle in the state of North Carolina. This Unimog was
partially restored in 2015 and is quite a unique vehicle. The huge
chassis has a 128" wheelbase and is built on a ladder-style frame.
Power is furnished by a Mercedes Benz OM366A in-line 6-cylinder
turbo-diesel engine that has a displacement of 360ci. (This engine
is also used in heavy equipment such as combines and is virtually
bulletproof.) The gearbox is a fully synchronized 8-speed manual
and a new clutch assembly has recently been installed. Our Unimog
is equipped with 'on-the-fly' 2WD/4WD differentials and optional
'Fast-axle' technology that permits a top speed in excess of 65mph.
Steering is power assisted and compressed air is used to activate
the dual hydraulic circuit disc brakes. Comfort and convenience
options include AM/FM/CD stereo system, heater, vinyl seats
w/lamb-skin covers and cab/engine heat shields. The exterior has
been refinished in John Deere Green and it is equipped with tool
box, PIAA headlights, back-up light/camera system and a huge bed
that measures 7'x10'. Wheels are 20" 6-bolt factory steel rims
painted JD Yellow with good Michelin radials. The Unimog has just
recently had a full service and the owner is including all MB
service manuals and documentation. This is truly your ultimate
4-wheel drive vehicle. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
