The road tripper has always been drawn to the VW Westy for its
simplicity and ability to go just about anywhere the trail or path
would lead you. With the ability to be self-sufficient or plug into
any 110v receptacle and have some creature comforts, the Westy
offered both.
Offered for sale is an outstanding reconditioned and well sorted
Westy deluxe edition that has had lots of money invested into the
vehicle along with countless hours of labor. The bus was built in
November of 1976 and was believed to stay on the west coast for
many years prior to the previous owner buying it in 2016 in
Colorado. Vehicle was treated to a very extensive restoration with
all new; paint, moldings, seals, chrome, carpet kit, seat covers,
door panels, camper top, windows, tires, wheels, hubcaps, and many
electrical items. The bus starts with ease, slides into all gears
and performs nicely on the road. All gauges are working along with
the rare tachometer, wipers, horn, heat and stereo. The stereo is
very impressive with plenty of power and great sound for any
tailgate or get together.
Vehicle retains all the proper cabinets, both tables, center bench,
mosquito net, stove, refrigerator, charging system, and propane
hookups. Vehicle will sleep 4 comfortable and more if you get
creative. Engine was rebuilt about 15k miles ago along with new
rear brakes, muffler, steering link, and CV boots.
This is a fantastic example of a cared for and respectable bus. The
lines are straight and the fit and finish is very solid. These are
only going up in value each year and will always have a very strong
following of investors, thrill seekers and the Dead Head.
