I have a great 450SL with new interior, new sound system and the custom Pagoda style hard top with factory tinted windows. It has a custom Nardi steering wheel which was nearly $1200 when installed and is much more elegant than the original box wheel. It also has a new convertible top. Power windows, air conditioning power antenna and an ample trunk. The color is the more rare English Red. You see few of them in this color.
Collectors know that the 300 SL series Gullwing and Roadsters are all Million Dollar cars. Even the 190 SL, and the 230, 250 and 280SL's are six figure cars. Mercedes continued to refine their next generation cars with the experience from the earlier cars. This will be the next collectible Mercedes.
This 450SL has the large displacement V8 engine along with a solid automatic transmission and power accessories making this a "Luxury Sport Car". This car has been well maintained and drives beautifully. It is on a non-op title and is garaged. I was keeping it as an investment but am leaving the country and will have to let it go.
The car has a salvage title because the original owner had the car stolen and after the insurance company settled with him the car was later recovered and as he loved the car he bought it back. But I have all of it's service records which shows dates and mileage so you are not buying a mystery. This car has been very well maintained.
This is a California car with no rust. It has been garage kept and serviced regularly. .
