Vehicle Description
1984 Chevy S-10 Pickup
The Chevrolet S-10 Series of Trucks was conceived during the height
of the Arab oil embargo and was a response to have a 1/4-ton pickup
that was versatile, as well as economical.
Presenting as a wolf in sheep's clothing, this truck is anything
but fuel efficient, nor does it even have a thought as to the Arab
oil embargo! This truck can be used on the street or the strip, it
has a split personality.
Mostly true to form exterior, though the engine compartment is
topped with a fiberglass scooped hood and is pinned to the rest of
the truck. Traction bars can be seen on the rear suspension, but
otherwise the truck is un-assuming.
The interior has been stripped, and lightweight aluminum
fabrications are seen replacing some original panels, as well as a
B&M gear shift housing with toggle switches. 3 Point Netami
racing harnesses are seen attached to the drivers and passenger
bench, the bench being correct to the original truck. Essential
analog gauges have been installed so monitoring can be constant
when the truck is in drag mode.
Speaking of which, the wolf is resides under the hood in the form
of a 1973 350CI V-8. It huffs through an Edelbrock Performer
intake, Q Jet Carb, H.E.I., and puffs through Hedman Headers with
custom dual exhaust. Bolted to the back of this performer is a TCI
350T/H Street/Strip transmission, a 10" UK Torque Converter, and a
B&M shifter. Power is transferred to the wheels via an OEM 10
bolt, 3.73:1 ratio "Lock Rite Locker" covered by a Trick Flow rear
cover.
A line lock system is installed. Stored in the back of the truck,
undercover of the snapping vinyl bed cover, are 2 rear drag wheels
and tires, ready to be bolted on and see the tree.
