Vehicle Description
Few vehicles are as quintessentially American as the truck. And in
the truck world, few names carry as much weight as Chevrolet.
Despite rising costs, Chevy truck enthusiasts are some of the most
loyal buyers in the market, making good use of their favorite
models as workhorses, show queens and everything in between. That
comes as no surprise when one realizes that, despite an
ever-evolving automotive landscape, trucks simply never lose their
appeal. And with that in mind, it should come as no surprise that
the market for classic trucks is absolutely exploding. This
national award-winning custom is the direct result of what happens
when talented builders follow an acute plan that's founded on great
details and top-notch workmanship. Looking for a classic that's
guaranteed to make you weak in the knees? Take a long look at this
sublime piece of Bowtie artistry!
AWARD-WINNING AESTHETICS
This national award-winning 3100 is the beneficiary of body-off,
nut-and-bolt restoration that was completed by Cappel's Auto
Restoration of Dickinson, Texas. That freshening began with a solid
body that was carefully stripped and converted from a 3-window to a
5-window cab. Once that metal was fully prepped, Silky Jaguar Light
Blue Metallic 2-stage was stretched from stem to stern. And today,
this Chevy rolls as one sweet showstopper that provides instant red
carpet curb appeal!
Naturally, the truck's professional rebuild included a roster of
tasteful modifications. At the front of its body, a 1951 grille
hangs clear parking lamps between a polished bumper, halogen
headlights and a nosed hood. Behind that bonnet, a filled cowl
fronts polished wipers, which clear a 1-piece windshield that leads
a tinted greenhouse. Beneath that glass, a shaved profile centers
polished door handles above painted running boards. At the back of
those steps, a 1951 bed fashions custom Oak strips around a locking
fuel filler and filled stake pockets. And at the back of the truck,
billet caps shade sleeved chains, stainless-trimmed taillights and
a custom roll pan.
UNIVERSAL POWER
Pop the hood and you'll find 350 cubic inches of buff Chevrolet
crate engine. At the top of the smooth mill, a polished air cleaner
rides a requisite 4-pot Holley, which drops a quick combination of
air and fuel into a sporty Edelbrock intake. At the perimeter of
that intake, iron GM heads seat polished valve covers between a
polished breather and coated block hugger headers. Behind those
tubes, a hot Mallory Unilite distributor fires loomed MSD Super
Conductor plug wires. Opposite that unit, traditional V-belts twist
billet pulleys between a polished alternator, polished power
steering and a polished AC compressor. In front of those
ancillaries, a large electric fan pulls air through a lightweight
aluminum radiator. And details like a polished Mallory coil, and a
finned and polished oil pan look great inside a massaged, Light
Blue Metallic frame.
ENJOY THE DRIVE!
What good is great brawn and beauty without great athleticism and
performance? Behind the small block, a tough Turbo-Hydramatic 350
3-speed twists power to a proven Ford 9-inch axle. That torque is
steered through power rack-and-pinion steering. That steering leads
a Mustang II front-clip, which is trailed by a trick mono leaf
rear-half. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to two power-assisted
discs and two power-assisted drums. Aluminized pipes whisk spent
gases through an H-shaped crossover, polished Magnaflow mufflers
and polished stainless tips. At the corners of the chassis,
polished Boyd Coddington wheels twist 245/45R18 Pirelli P Zero
Rossos in front of 275/40ZR20 Pirelli P Zero Rossos. And
everything, from the truck's polished flywheel cover to its
stainless fuel tank, is well planned, well executed and ready to
work its magic!
STYLED SUBSTANCE
Modified in the same tasteful manner as its timeless body, this
truck's custom interior is an exercise in style and solitude. Front
and center, a massaged dash hangs billet-ringed Beede telemetry
next to modern Kenwood audio and modern Vintage Air climate
control. Opposite that dash, a Glide Engineering bench adjusts
forward, rearward, and reclines. Quality sound insulation keeps
road noise out while a Pioneer amp, a Rockford Fosgate sub and
crisp Pioneer kick speakers keep the tunes pumped within. And the
driver stays connected to the road through a leather-wrapped
Lecarra Banjo Wheel, which laps a tilting Ididit column.
