Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is pleased to offer this
beautiful 1986 Chevrolet El Camino. This El Camino shows 12,340
miles on the odometer since rebuild, and is presented in a stunning
Poly Red with matching hard tonneau complemented by a custom
leather interior in burgundy and white. The steering wheel is by
Windsor and the audio system is by Clarion. Powered by a 350 cubic
inch crate motor driving through a 3 speed automatic, this custom
El Camino rolls on 15" Eagle 206 alloy wheels wrapped in BF
Goodrich 235/60 HR 15 raised white letter tires. The fabricated
exhaust downstream from the headers is complete with H-pipe and
Magnaflow mufflers and produces a deep powerful rumble. The 1986
model year was the second to last of the El Camino, with 1987
bringing the fifth and final generation of this revered nameplate
to a close. A new, trimmer El Camino, this fifth generation adopted
the new, more sharp-edged Malibu styling, and a one-inch longer
wheelbase of 117 in (2,972 mm). The front end sheet metal and doors
were shared with the Malibu, and the rear tailgate and bumper was
shared with the Malibu station wagon. For the first time, though,
the El Camino had a unique chassis - it was shared with no other
Chevrolet. Among GM makes, at least, the era of bigness was fading
into history, overtaken by a new age of efficiency and economy. To
