Vehicle Description
1964 Mercury Parklane
The first year of the second generation for the Park Lane, 1964 saw
some streamlining being done, as well as comfort upgrades. The
Mercury line was the middle line for Ford. The Park Lane being the
more luxuriously appointed option model for the Mercury.
A basic barn find, patina, and cracked, with some overspray
repaint, the Silver Turquoise has lost its luster. The structure of
the car looks good, and views from underneath show surface rust
only. Body is solid, panel gaps are a little off, as well as chrome
brightwork alignment. Bumpers and badging are in fair
condition.
Interior vinyl shows some damage on the driver's side seat back,
carpet is a bit faded, dash presents with come pitting, but all is
there and correct. Electric windows and power seat options are not
in working condition. Air conditioning option is installed but was
not turned on to try it.
A dual range automatic is installed (so says the build plate)
Merc-O- Matic with a 390ci V8. Power steering, power brakes, and
power seats, and the power windows are nonfunctioning. Car comes
with original window sticker, some repair receipts, and a showroom
brochure. For the individual looking for a project, this is the
perfect large Detroit built mid 60's iron. This one deserves a
peek.
