Vehicle Description
1961 Cadillac Custom
The 1961 Cadillac is a perfect example of vehicle design as the
world transitioned from the 50s to the 60s. They still had the 50s
fins but they were more subtle than previous years and although it
still had some rounded edges it was headed towards more of the
boxed hard edge look that would be standard for later in the 60s.
These cars still featured a lot of chrome, style, and just an all
around classy look. The 1961 Cadillac you see here is a beautiful
example of one of these cars but steps it up a notch with some
customizations that really take it to the next level. From the
outside the car is all 1961 Cadillac. The body is very straight and
coated in a beautiful gloss Black paint that really shines. The
original style chrome and trim are all cleanly mounted in place and
really show off why Cadillac was synonymous with luxury. The quad
headlamps and taillamps work properly as do the fin mounted lights.
Under all four corners are the original style Cadillac hubcaps
wrapped with wide white wall tires that look perfect on a car like
this.
Sitting at a stop light people will see a beautiful luxury cruiser
that they expect to glide down the road like the big Cadillacs they
remember back in the day. What they don't know is this thing has a
secret stashed under the hood that makes it one of a kind. It is
now powered by a new LS3 motor that was just installed 4,000 miles
ago. These motors are extremely well built and are headed for the
history books as one of Chevrolets best and most versatile engines.
From performance to reliability you just can't beat it and for a
pro touring style car like this it is perfect. The motor looks just
as well as it runs topped with custom Cadillac engine cover and
everything being nicely painted or polished. Backing it up is a new
4L70 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive that smoothly
runs through the gears transferring power back to the Ford 9 inch
rear end. Not a single component of this car was left untouched
during the build and everything is basically brand new. The
Electric Hydraulic brakes are all new and it has disc in front with
drum in rear. All of the bushings throughout the car were replaced
as were the shocks and it has adjustable shocks in rear. The
exhaust system is also all new and the car sounds amazing! It is
really one of those cars with the look of the classic Coupe Deville
with the guts of your modern Caddy hidden inside.
The interior has been entirely redone and the Black/White
combination looks great. The upholstery work is nicely done and
very well maintained since it was replaced. It looks like the car
was just finished yesterday! The original steering wheel has the
factory Cadillac horn button and looks awesome in Black and White
to match the upholstery. The dash has that great looking original
layout with stock trim and features but incorporated into that are
some very tastefully done custom upgrades. It now has custom
Bluelite Dakota Digital gauges, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player, a custom
center console and custom AC vents. Everything that has been
modified on the car was extremely well done that it all looks right
at home. This isn't the case of someone throwing cool catalogue
items at a car and hoping they work. Everything was well thought
out and incorporates into the 61 Cadillac style perfectly.
You really aren't going to find a single weak area of this car.
Everything works and the car is practically brand new again. It
gets looks every where it goes especially when people realize it is
set up to drive just like your brand new daily driver.
You couldn't come close to duplicating this thing for only
$125,000.00!
