The 4Runner is a model built by Toyota and came to production in
1984. In japan it is known and sold as the Hilux Surf. It was
originally built as a compact SUV, basically a small truck with a
hard shell over the bed fitted with a seat. It has now evolved into
a premier luxury off-road icon. In fact in a study done in 2016
ranking the longest lasting vehicles in the US, the 4Runner is
ranked number 3. The third generation of trucks were built from
1995-2002 under the project code 185T under Masaaki Ishiko. By now
the 4Runner was in a class all of its own with an updated 3.4 Liter
V6 being offered and more ergonomically correct interior but still
holding true to its value of rugged dependability. Now the exciting
part is that this is probably the lowest mileage 4Runners available
today. Traveling under 40,000 miles since new this thing really is
the Holy Grail of 4Runners. This truck has had a couple owners from
new and has a perfect carfax. The body and frame were undercoated
and rustproofed from day one and the interior shows like new. It
has the sought after locking differential mated to its 4x4 system.
This Toyota runs, drives, stops and shift as you can imagine with
everything in working order including the power antennae, 4WD and
