Vehicle Description
Fresh off its restoration, where it was brought to top form and
equipped with everything needed to provide a rewarding driving
experience while exuding maximum curb appeal, this 1965 Chevrolet
C10 is a great looking, great running and great sounding vintage
pickup that's well suited for hitting the highway as often as you
choose. While on any of those journeys, you could also pull into
any local car show taking place and attract some serious
attention.
Its exterior is clad in dark gray metallic paint, an awesome match
for its rugged looking shape and a color you don't see all that
often on trucks of its era. As a '65, it came out toward the tail
end of the first generation of C10s and benefited from the
mechanical advances that came along before it, one of which, its
drop-center ladder frame, allowed Chevy to position the cab lower
than ever before relative to the rest of the truck, setting a trend
for future models. Once the rebuilding began, it was done with
precision - the exterior alignment on this Chevy looks precise and
equips it with a very road-ready appearance. Its assembly of chrome
- all of which was obviously either recoated or replaced
altogether, judging from its sharp condition - the front grille,
badging and headlight casings look particularly good. In back, the
modified rear bumper and liftgate with painted over recessed
lettering provide a great, custom look.
The interior has been thoroughly refurbished while retaining a
suitably classic look and putting an increased emphasis on comfort
and functionality. The plushly padded bench seat is a definite
strong point - featuring a sharp looking black and silver cover
that mixes vinyl and cloth. It's surrounded by a lot of nice
finishing touches - you'll find a pair of sun visors mounted at the
top of the windshield that sport a tuck and roll pattern and a
woodgrain Grant GT steering wheel sitting on its tilt column. A
little farther forward, the dash area has been the recipient of a
lot of attention and features a collection of Dolphin gauges in its
instrument cluster that are surrounded by well-prepped, smooth
steel surfaces. A Sony AM/FM/CD stereo with iPod connectivity
standing by at its center to attend to your audio needs. An
underdash air conditioning unit has also been added, and it's
running at its best to fill the cabin with cool air as needed. The
bed area is an absolute standout - it's lined with fresh wooden
planks that have been treated with a deep, dark stain and sit
between bright chrome steel strips.
Under the hood in a showroom-fresh engine compartment is a 350
cubic inch V8, dressed with chrome Edelbrock air cleaner sitting
over its 4-barrel carb and Edelbrock intake manifold, and a pair of
chrome valve covers on its sides. Things are really looking nice
under the hood - every component looks well-detailed, the belts and
hoses are fresh and all wiring is neatly routed. The powerplant
itself is in great form, starting promptly, pulling strong and
sounding awesome as it sings through the aftermarket headers
leading to its dual exhausts. It teams with a 3-speed automatic
TH350 transmission that's known for its rock-solid dependability.
Power steering provides easy navigation, while power brakes that
feature discs up front bring this classic truck to a prompt halt
when needed as it cruises on its set of 18" wheels outfitted with
Sumitomo tires. The undercarriage below appears to be in
outstanding condition.
Meticulously restored both inside and out, and armed with plenty of
dependable power, this 1965 Chevrolet C10 is a vintage truck to be
reckoned with. Call today!
