1966 Dodge Monaco Convertible For Sale- 383ci/325hp V8, Nicely
Restored LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Dodge Monaco
Convertible The Monaco was launched by Dodge in 1965 to go
head-to-head against personal luxury coupes like the Pontiac Grand
Prix. In 1966, Dodge expanded the Monaco line to include not only
the two-door hardtop but, a two-door convertible, four-door sedan,
four-door hardtop, a six- and nine-passenger wagon. The gamble paid
off, because Dodge sold three times as many Monacos in 1966, all
with a price $250 to $500 higher than that of their Polara
counterparts. The big bonus in searching out a Monaco over a Polara
is the engine. Base Polara's were the low-priced "Polara 318" trim,
but Monaco's were all offered with 383-cu.in. V-8s, with a Carter
BBD-4125S two-barrel carburetor in base form, delivering 270hp.
Either by selecting the option, or by buying the Monaco 500, buyers
got the Carter AFB 3855S four-barrel with 325hp. This particular
1966 Dodge Monaco is a very rare convertible model presented in its
factory colors of Spice Gold Metallic complemented by a Gold
interior. It is powered by the 383ci/325hp engine backed by a 727
TorqueFlite Automatic transmission which pushes this large
convertible nicely down the road. It is a very highly optioned car
with bucket seats, console, dual exhaust, power steering, power
brakes, push-button radio, Rallye 500 wheels and fender skirts. It
was restored over a 2-year period and features a nicely detailed
engine compartment and beautiful paint. This 1966 Dodge Monaco
would be the perfect summer cruiser to enjoy on open back roads or
driving to the beach! Additional Details: 1966 DODGE MONACO -
