One of Chevrolet's most popular early Super Sports is the Nova SS
Coupe. Often replicated, there is nothing like finding the
original. This 1965 Nova SS is a true Super Sport survivor and
maintains its original 283 Turbo Fire V8 with M35 Powerglide
transmission. Only 643 SS Nova V8s were built in 1965, and this is
one of them. Get your hands on a piece of history!
The factory original 283ci V8 is presented just as it was when new.
No aftermarket hod rod parts on this one. Clean and simple. It
starts easy and runs well, no smoke or clatter. It makes great
power and the transmission shifts crisp and smooth. A well
maintained survivor.
As we all know, a black finish shows every imperfection, but you'll
find very few. Other than a couple of paint cracks near the center
hood line, the finish presents very nicely. This car was refinished
in late 2014/early 2015. With straight panels and consistent gaps,
this is a very nice example of the early Nova SS. Even the door
jambs were painted and look great. Both front and rear bumpers
gleam with brilliance. The grille is straight, showing the
slightest hint of aging, true also of some other original trim on
the car. All glass is in good condition.
Inside, this Nova SS has aged gracefully. A beautiful survivor and
a testament to the very low miles showing on the odometer. The
carpets look new, and the seats look fresh, both front and
rear-front buckets, rear bench. The vinyl appears original-surely
someone sat in this car, but it sure doesn't look like it! The door
panels also appear original, and in excellent condition. The
headliner is snug and straight. Only with the console do we start
to see hints that this car is a half-century old, and in a way,
it's reassuring.
This black SS is a blast to drive and a real head turner. It pulls
strong, shifts well, and stops straight and proper. The lights and
switches and gauges all work, making it a fantastic driver or a
unique addition to any collection. There aren't many cars like this
left, especially with only 643 being made!
The only thing it's missing is a driver. That could be you! Call
