For Sale: 1973 International Scout in Kentwood, Michigan

Vehicle Description

The Scout had a lasting impact on the International brand and continued to allow the company to build cars into the 80's. With extra capital and larger dealer network the brand was the farmer's choice for when they were not on the tractor. With endless supply of parts and easy access to work on them, anyone with general mechanical knowledge could keep them on the road or maintain them.

This stunning and very original setup was built in July of 1973 and delivered to Frank Bryson out of Adams, Oregon from Pendleton Grain Growers Inc in Pendleton, Oregon. The car remained in the same ownership till we recently acquired the Scout from the owner. He used the vehicle mostly around his ranch in Oregon and trail rides. The car was used by the famous Wildlife Safari Company in Oregon to use as a promotion video when the preserve was introduced with its massive acreage and wildlife animals to view. The vehicle is mostly original with the line ticket we have and matches up nicely. The vehicle has a few rare options such as; factory A/C, the larger 345 V8 engine, heavy duty bumpers, deluxe exterior trim and custom interior trim. Most notably is the very rare two tone applique dcor paint that is trimmed in Omaha Orange and white. It is very stunning and very unique compared to any of the others on the market.

Vehicle was just treated to a full engine rebuild with all new pistons, valves, springs, bearings, rings, cam, water pump, and painted the correct IHC red. The crank and head was machined and bored out to 30:0. Proper 500 miles of break in miles were logged by mechanic and then all new fluids replaced and is ready for its next adventure.

Vehicle is in nice original condition but not a trailer queen, but original scouts that have not been molested, resprayed or modified are very hard to find. This car has enjoyed its entire life in the dry climate of Oregon and comes with original books, original owner document, line ticket, and letter from Ed Hutton of Wildlife Safari as well as other documents.
