Vehicle Description
This 1958 Chevrolet 3100 Apache has a terrific mix of new and
vintage. After all, the classic face is joined by a modern truck
bed, A/C interior, enhanced V8 power and much more to create a very
cool custom pickup.
This is a thoughtfully assembled total package. The Apache design
was only in place for a couple of years, so it has a distinctive
place in all out truck-loving hearts. That's why it's great to get
the front end looking straight and presented so well. But you'll
begin to notice some subtle custom work. For example, the bumper is
painted to match the white body, and the grille has a tasteful tan
that coordinates with what's wrapping around the rear of the cab.
So you get a classic look that's tastefully distinct. And speaking
of distinction, a newer-generation strepside bed was added to the
truck. With matching paint and classic polished bedrails, this
feels like a seamless integration. Plus, the American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels add extra shine while also drawing attention to the
aggressive forward-leaning stance.
Inside is more great custom work. The tweed on the seats nicely
coordinates with the lower door panels, carpeting, and custom
center console. The full uniform package is complete with the doors
and dash following the two-tone theme from the exterior. More than
just look great, this truck was upgraded for comfort. The two
low-back bucket seats provide a much more individualized bolstering
than the factory ever could in '58. Plus, you get an AM/FM/CD
stereo and ice-cold air conditioning. The upgraded NK4 steering
wheel feels grippy in your hands, and the full AutoMeter gauge
panel is another reminder of a nice upgrade under the hood.
Since the interior and exterior were meant to show off, the engine
bay is, too. It's exterior-matching tan paint and smooth appearance
really funnels your attention to the V8. The motor is finished
nicely with plenty of polished components, and its overall tidy
appearance reaffirms this was a well-done project. The 350
cubic-inch motor inhales deeply thanks to a Holley four-barrel
carburetor and aluminum intake. And it stays cool thanks to dual
electric fans. And while you'll like the rumble of the dual
exhaust, don't forget to follow its path in the undercarriage
photos. There you'll not only spot a nicely painted chassis, but
also great driving upgrades like the Camaro front suspension and
front disc brakes. Add in power steering and a four-speed automatic
transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive, and this is a fantastic
anytime custom pickup.
This is the classic Apache that's an absolutely memorable custom
build. So if you like to stand out in all the best ways, call
