1968 Mercury cougar XR-7 What set the XR-7 series apart from the
standard cougar were rocker panels moldings, special wheel covers,
deck lid medallions and XR-7 plaques on the rear roof pillars set
the top-of-the-line Cougar apart from the basic series. Standard
equipment included: an overhead console (with map and warning
lights) deep-loop carpeting tachometer trip odometer gauges
leather-trimmed vinyl seats and walnut tone instrument panel.
