Vehicle Description
STK 2483 1959 Chevrolet Corvette
By 1959, the Chevrolet Corvette had reached a performance standard
that other American cars could not match. To quote Road and Track
Magazine at the time - "The 1959 Corvette is a pretty package, with
all of the speed you need and then some." This fully restored
roadster is stunning. Look at the photos. The restoration process
left no stone unturned and there is a folder of notes and photos
that document the restoration and much of the car's early history.
Our Corvette was carefully reshot in Snowcrest White with Roman Red
coves. (According to the documentation, it was all Snowcrest from
the factory.) BF Goodrich wide-white bias-ply tires are mounted on
steel wheels with elegant spinner hubcaps. Cosmetic revisions to
the '59 model from the previous year included the deletion of hood
louvers and chrome trunk strips. The interior is completely
restored back to original and is impressive. Numerous interior
components were replaced during the restoration process and many of
the original parts (including the WonderBar radio) are included in
the sale. Horsepower is furnished by a 283ci small-block that is
fitted with dual Carter 4-barrel carbs. This configuration produced
245bhp from the factory. The original block of this Corvette was
damaged and replaced with a short-block in the late 70's. All
available records indicate that the 2x4 set-up was factory, but
without the casting numbers from the original engine, we cannot be
positive. The small-block is backed by a 4-speed manual
transmission. The original fully-synchronized 3-speed manual
transmission is also included in the sale. A solid chassis is
equipped with manual steering and huge 11" drum brakes. Very few of
these Corvettes reach the marketplace. This beautiful '59 Corvette
is not a numbers matching car, but it is an amazing restoration
that belongs in your collection. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
