This SSR is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Slingshot Yellow (79) over Ebony Leather (192) interior. This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data sticker pictured below. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." Model description
The SSR's "retro" styled design was inspired by Chevrolet's late-1940s Advance Design trucks, in particular the 1947–1955 pickups. It featured a steel body retractable hardtop convertible designed by Karmann and built by ASC. The body of the truck, namely the front fenders, were made with deep draw stampings, a forming technique that had not been used in automotive stampings in decades, and required a "relearning" of the forming technique. The production model was based on the SuperSport Roadster concept car shown at the 2000 Detroit Auto Show. An early-production SSR was the pace car for the 2003 Indianapolis 500 auto race.
Exterior
The Slingshot Yellow exterior is in spectacular condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a excellent gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. We have seen no paint lines, overspray or other signs of paintwork at all. Also, this car has never been in any type of accident, which is confirmed in the AutoCheck report. The original chrome wheels are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. Please note in the options list above that this SSR came from the factory with Chrome wheels, they are not some cheap aftermarket or rechromed wheels. The tires have plenty of tread left, but they may be original so they do show their age. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There may be some tiny blemishes that were too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. As one would expect from a vehicle with such low mileage the underside is very clean and this car has absolutely no rust at all.
This SSR came equipped from the factory with the trailering package. Please note that the original trailer hitch is included with the car and pictured below; it is brand new and has never been used.
Interior
The Ebony Leather interior in the SSR looks fantastic. The seats look just as good in person as they do in the photos with no tears, rips, or excessive wear. The driver's seat is not worn in the typical spot on the bolster of the driver's seat where the driver gets in a and out. The carpet also looks nice with no stains, tears, or holes. The dash and console are in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels look excellent and both door pulls are solid and in tact. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever. The excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this SS has received throughout its life.
Mechanical
This Super Sport Roadster is in great mechanical condition. It is a nice driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds; it runs and drives just like you would expect from a vehicle with 11,000 miles that is like new. The car starts right away every time and runs well. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70 mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the SSR performs quite well overall. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine is clean, beautifully detailed, complete, correct, and original as one can see from the photos.
The power convertible hardtop works perfectly as one can see in the video. The horn works as do the indicators, exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, and blower for the heater and a/c on all speeds. The a/c works and blows cold. All of the gauges work. Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. This SSR has lots of power with the and handles great. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this vehicle, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this Chevrolet SSR is in excellent condition and a great value at our asking price. The market on SSR's is very strong right now, especially for correct, original, and low mileage examples like this one. This truck turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever it goes. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson and stars of the future. Someone could easily enjoy this Super Sport Roadster for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price in the years to come with minimal effort.
