Vehicle Description
1967 Plymouth GTX For Sale - Factory 426 Hemi,1 Of Only 45 4-Speed
Hemi GTXs Built LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967
Plymouth GTX Hemi The desire for eye-catching appearance was often
as important as the power beneath the hood in the American
muscle-car era, and this 1967 Hemi GTX certainly has both
attributes. It was the first season for this noteworthy Plymouth
performance model, a street stormer which offered upscale standard
equipment and an array of possible color combinations and options.
Beneath the special GTX hood with its twinned scoop renderings is
the King Kong of the street, Chrysler's NASCAR-bred 426 Hemi
engine. Little needs to be said about its prowess. Capable of
instantly turning the rear tires into pavement crayons with a howl,
this Hemi has dual 4-barrel carburetors, dual exhaust, 10.25
compression and a race-engineered bottom end. There were Hemi
suspension upgrades, and this car comes with both power steering
and power brakes to assist when you are done accelerating. The
exterior features the discreet midyear HEMI front fender tags, GTX
emblems, centered hood ornament, chrome exhaust tips and
pit-stop-style flip-open gas cap. Offered here is a true J-code
Hemi Plymouth GTX that was one of only 312 examples constructed
with the more brutal 4-speed driveline that year. Factory ordered
in the stunning "TW2" two tone paint scheme White/copper
complemented by the "P6K" Copper interior makes this one unique
combination. The beautiful interior has optional bucket seats and
AM push button. Under the hood is the 426/425 HP Hemi engine
featuring the chrome air-cleaner over twin Carter AFB carburetors.
This is backed by the A833 4-speed transmission and a Sure Grip
Dana 60 differential. The car wears correct Magnum 500 wheels with
radial redline tires and features the trademark paired hood accents
all GTX models received as well as the simple chrome HEMI
'warnings' (to the guy at the stoplight) on the front quarters and
deck-lid edge. Beyond that, almost as important today is ample
provenance to a car's production origins, and with this vehicle,
that includes factory broadcast sheet, original Certi-Card and
restoration photos. With the paperwork to back up its heritage,
this hard-edged Hemi hardtop is an exquisite package for somebody
who still wants to have it all. Additional Details: 1967 PLYMOUTH
